The Islamic Center Wageningen Foundation has developed over the years as an important Islamic center for Muslims and non-Muslims in Wageningen. In addition to its religious function, the foundation fulfills an important role as a socio-cultural meeting center for Muslims in Wageningen.

Another important part of the foundation’s activities is the provision of educational, emancipatory and cultural activities. the foundation is more than a prayer room, but as an Islamic center it also fulfills a bridging function between Muslims and non-Muslims in society.

For non-Muslims, the foundation is the information center where men can come into contact with Muslims and receive information about Islam. In the current period in which extremist Islam is coming into the spotlight worldwide and the negative image of Islam is strong, we consider this bridging function of great importance.
